Giving God Your “Yes”

November 2017 marks a new beginning for Jimmy and I.  It is exciting and terrifying all at once.  Have you ever felt that way?

I felt that way when I found out I was pregnant with our first born, Max.  Filled with excitement and anticipation in one moment and then flooded with fear the next.

“I don’t know what to do with a baby!”

“Will I continue working?”

“How will we afford the added cost?”

But the love we felt for this growing baby was much bigger than the fear and soon the questions faded away and we slipped into baby bliss.

Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

1 John 4:18

Months before, when I had been crying out to God for a baby, He had spoken in His still small voice, “prepare him room”.  I still have it written down in an old journal from 2009.  The hope had been growing within and before long, the baby was too.

Many times when God speaks we respond simply with a quiet ‘yes’ and patiently wait while the seed of promise grows.  We prepare room in our hearts and then eventually in our lives, our schedules and then one day, the water breaks and the promise is born.

What if you dared to believe the words of the Father spoken to you?  Give God your quiet ‘yes’ and wait patiently as the promise grows.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11

With Love,
